Gucci's Pre-Fall 2013 50's Forecast. A Contemporary Femme Fatale.

Gucci Pre-Fall 2013
Frida Giannini was one of the first to present her new pre-fall 2013 collection for Gucci. Pure luxury, for which Gucci is symbolic of, was well stated here.  Silhouettes fit close to the body embraced the femme fatale Giannini was indulging. A passionate teal dress paired with a belt simply couldn’t be any more luxurious coming from Gucci.  Colors spoke intensely. Small doses of cheetah prints were about the most provocative we saw in this passionate collection. We even experienced an oversized gray coat we weren't expecting here from. Perhaps upcoming mother Giannini wanted to portray her tender feelings through this presentation. 70s took a break to be replaced by the romantic 50s. We are eager to see if Frida Giannini will take along her femme fatale interpretation into Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection next month.

Spring/Summer 2013 Trends - 2. Beloved Ruffles

Gucci Spring 2013
Gucci Spring/Summer 2013

Ruffles have proven to be the star of season for spring/summer 2013, but take in consideration that the spring ruffles should declare serenity more than drama. Some designers chose to add small layer of this design and extend them into longer waves, maintaining a classical feel. Gucci’s sophisticated ruffles proved just how luxurious an effortless dress or top could be. Peter Pilotto’s extravagant layered prints maintained the level of modernism without being too loud spoken. Givenchy’s inspired catholic roots added a purification touch that any would be willing to wear to clear their sins. Isabel Marant decided to present a classical ruffled blouse in a jolly manner.

Gucci Romanticism - Gucci Spring 2013

Gucci Spring/Summer 2013 Ruffle Dress Gucci Spring/Summer 2013 Embroidered Dress Gucci Spring/Summer 2013 Black Ruffled Dress

“It’s all about color, such real color,” Ms. Giannini stated backstage at the Gucci Spring 2013 show. We already had a hint there was going to be a new Gucci woman emerging, looking back at its men’s spring 2013 collection. From fuchsia, to cobalt, turquoise, and electric yellow were one of the main colors chosen to dress from head to toe. Ruffles played the protagonist in this collection, making the look even more desirable. Frida Giannini showed us that the Gucci woman can be sexy, sensual, and provocative, but overall romantic. Everything was about an “architectural silhouette,” focusing more on the details and accessories without too much emphasis on the body. It was a risk she took, and very well taken.
